CAL with #LeadershipDancefloor is a unique leadership development experience for learning how to lead and nurture Agile organizations.
With this certification program, you will build a solid frame of reference to enhance your leadership skills, and you will be able to apply these skills to your business reality from day one.
In its third year of execution, CAL delivered by Ángel Díaz-Maroto, has helped more than 1000 participants from over 30 countries on three continents benefit from the lessons learned through more than 14 years of developing agility in companies of various sizes, domains, contexts, and cultures.
The Certified Agile Leadership program (CAL) is divided in two Levels.
Certified Agile Leadership Core curriculum and Certified Agile Leadership Coach certification.
Certified Agile Leadership Core curriculum
Description
The Certified Agile Leadership Core curriculum consists on three, 8 hours long, certified classes:
- Certified Agile Leadership Essentials CAL-E: Brings awareness and understanding to the foundations of agile leadership. Discover the way agile leaders think, focus, and behave. The focus on agile leadership essentials equips you to embark confidently on the journey toward leading with agility and championing agile transformation in your workplace.
- Certified Agile Leadership for Teams CAL-T: Teaches you how to create a mindset, interactions, processes and a culture of commitment, impeccability, transparency, inspection, and adaptation to allow for high performance, experimentation and continuous improvement within your teams. The goal of this course is to create awareness about the changing dynamics in today’s world of work and equip leaders with the skills they need to lead their teams towards agility.
- Certified Agile Leadership for Organizations CAL-O: Teaches you how to create a safe-to-fail environment and foster a culture of transparency, inspection, and adaptation to allow for experimentation and continuous learning within your teams. The goal of this course is to create awareness about the changing dynamics in today’s world of work and equip leaders with the practices they need to lead their teams with agility.
You will learn:

- Eight perspectives and leadership factors for influencing organizational agility.
- How to design and communicate the vision of Agile transformation.
- The way to establish organizational objectives.
- A strategy for cultural change that reduces resistance and friction within the system.
- How to strengthen your development path as an Agile leader, incorporating your personal style and organization-specific challenges.
- How to ask powerful questions to investigate and explore leadership skills by creating learning and development opportunities.
- How to use a culture model to understand the organizational challenge by adopting agility.
- How to incorporate new values by understanding and respecting the old values of the organizational culture.
- The intervention style of an experienced Agile coach, which will help you to avoid rookie mistakes in your Agile initiatives.
Certification
At the end of this training, you will obtain two accreditations of great international prestige: Certified Agile Leadership 1 (CAL 1) by the Scrum Alliance and Certified Agile Leadership Practitioner as CCE by the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Certified Agile Leadership Coach (CAL II)
Description
The Certified Agile Leadership Coach certification consist on a 6 month long online education program that deep dives into leadership development and practical application of the models learned in the core curriculum. The goal of CAL II is to guide leaders in deepening, applying, and empowering agile leadership. This journey fosters learning and practice across five categories (Self Leadership, Social Leadership, Team Leadership, Leadership in an Agile Context and Leading transformation).
This online program entails a minimum of 60 hours of learning conducted at your own pace over a period of five months to one year. It includes hands-on practice, personal coaching, mentoring on real-life scenarios, the opportunity to interact and share experiences with other leaders, and a deep dive into leadership development strategies. This program will increase your confidence and grow your understanding of what it takes to be a successful leader.
To participate in CAL II participants are required to hold an active combination of two or more of CAL-E, CAL-T, CAL-O or CAL-I.
How to get the Certified Agile Leadership Coach(CAL II) Certification
- To participate in the CAL II program, you will be asked to propose your own real-life case study. During a minimum of five months, you will reinforce learning through that case and receive support in your leadership development journey with advanced education, personal coaching, and peer workshops. This assistance will help you to boost and validate your leadership skills. Your case study will be properly developed and documented during the CAL II program.
- Upon successful completion of CAL II, you will be eligible to apply for the CAL certification. An Approved CAL Educator will validate your case study, and you will be granted the CERTIFIED AGILE LEADER certification.
CAL II Program Model
PERSONAL COACHING
The program includes individual support on your personal growth:
- A minimum* of five (one-hour long) online one-to-one coaching sessions with a professional ICF coach trained on the #LeadershipDancefloor.
- A professional assessment for your behavior, motivation, emotional intelligence, and leadership profile.
ADVANCED EDUCATION
To successfully complete the program, the participant must complete a minimum of:
- A minimum of seven (two-hour-long) online workshops led by an Approved CAL Educator.
- A minimum of six teamwork sessions, where you will work on different case scenarios.
- A minimum of five peer coaching sessions, where you will practice your leadership development competences.
- A minimum of fifty hours of self-study and asynchronous work.
- Personal case study.
VALIDATED PRACTICE
To finalize the certification journey, the participant must:
- Submit a journal of their leadership development journey and the use of the #LeadershipDancefloor framework in a case study. This journal will be evaluated and uploaded by your CAL Educator.
- Submit a minimum of five testimonials of peers or colleagues who witnessed the evolution of the candidate’s leadership capabilities.
- Show mastery on the practical use of the #LeadershipDancefloor by a publication or practical demonstration.
Once a student successfully completes the CAL II online program, the certification requirements are validated, and the student will be awarded the Certified Agile Leader (CAL) certification by the Scrum Alliance and will be accredited as a Certified Agile Leadership Coach certified as a Continuing Coach Education by the International Coach Federation.
